You say “Bryson Tiller,” and most girls go insane. In fact, it’s like he’s the new millennial heart-throb. However, there’s way more than his looks and soothing vocals, the 23-year-old has been picking up momentum for a little over a year already, and he’s definitely not stopping anything soon.
The Louisville, Kentucky native recently took to social media to thank his fans for the continuous support he’s receive in the past year. Last week, his debit album TRAPSOUL (which dropped in October 2015) had passed the sales mark to be certified gold, with just two singles out, “Don’t” and “Exchange,” which have also topped the Billboard Hot 100 for several months.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, how did he reach platinum within months? Well, if you take Tiller’s music, it’s both insufferable and unimaginative. He blends rapping and singing so well it gets you “in your feelings.” For instant, if you take Drake’s music and a little bit of Kanye West, then you get Bryson Tiller, a.k.a. Young Tiller. While TRAPSOUL sits right in the center of today’s RnBass movement.
On the other hand, the language of his songs speaks so well to this generation. It’s pretty much a mixture of trying to make a relationship work or overcome relationship drama with lyrics like “This is not, this is not a mother*cking / A mother*cking game, mother*cker / I’m as humble as they come, but you’re f*cking with the wrong one.”
While he got the attention of many, even his fellow Canadian Drizzy Drake, Bryson passed on signing with the OVO general, and went with the legendary producer Timbaland. Not to mention, being sign to Timbo adds so much uniqueness to his style of delivery.
So why exactly is Bryson Tiller one of the most favorite up and coming artists in today’s music? Well, its plain and simple, he sounds like the kind of music that’s popular and hitting right now.
Nonetheless, there’s no doubting that Bryson Tiller is the man! – Lupe Looove
